Garden Design Questionnaire

1. Site Conditions

* Name * Email * Are there any drainage problems on your property?
* Is there a lot of clay, sand or rocky areas within your property?
* Are there any large trees in the immediate area, or specific areas of tree roots?
* Are there specific areas of too much sun or too much shade?
* Are there changes of grade, or slopes on your property (If yes, please mark on drawing and attach).
Attachment * Is your property higher or lower than that of neighbours?
* Is the property fenced? Does the fencing need to be replaced? Can it be?

2. Function

Identify your priorities as to how you want to use your garden.

* Entertainment areas- to accommodate how many sitting? dining?
* Barbecue/cooking area- mobile BBQ or built-in, outdoor kitchen?
* Water- Swimming pool?, Spa? Pond?, Waterfeature?
* Children- play area? Do you have or want play structures of any kind?
* Do you have dogs? Do they need a specific area?
* Do you need outdoor storage? How large? Any specific access requirements?
* Are there any privacy issues/ views that you want blocked either by planting or fencing?
* Do you enjoy spending time gardening or do you require as low maintenance as possible?

3. Form

Are there any specific styles that you identify with? (Check as many as apply)

STYLES:
* Do you have good views of the garden from inside the house- from which areas?
* Do you like strong color contrasts? Are there any colors/combos you don't like?
* Do you have a preference for natural stone such as flagstone etc. or cultured stone such as interlock etc.
* Do you have an approximate budget in mind?
* Would you like to have artwork incorporated into the garden? Anything specific?
* Would you like lighting incorporated?
