Design Drawings
Most landscape drawings these days are done on computer programs, which we can do as well, but we prefer hand drawings because they convey the character of the garden more fully, and also allow a full range of shaping and delineation, not limited by the parameters of the program. Garden design, as expressed through a plan drawing, is a process of suggestion as much as it is of delineation. It is qualitative- a description of the qualities and relationships between elements as much as it is a hard specification of materials, sizes and locations. Our drawings are intended to convey as much the character of the garden as they are the specific shapes, lengths and widths of its components. We can also do perspective (3D) drawings to better communicate the style or form of structures or the overall layout of the garden.
